The book, "Syncopation" by Ted Reed is one of the most used and versatile drum books ever written. The versatility lies in what you can do with the rhythms contained there-in. The first step, however, is to simply be able to read the book "as is". TD takes you through the book  with a "read through" mentality. Play along as we do various tempo markings and also play along to some background rhythmic tracks. The most famous pages in the book, pages 38 to 44 are played various ways and tempo, using "Straight", "Swing" and "Cut-Time" phrasing. This is an excellent way to develop your rhythmic senses and also to acquaint yourself with the most common "Jazz" type figures. Once the basic read through is accomplished, go to all the various "interpretive" video chapters to provide you with a lifetime of inspiration.
