OVERVIEW: SYNCOPATION INTERPRETATION-HAND TECHNIQUES AND CONCEPTS

The famous "Syncopation" book is at the core of the Top Down Drumming's approach. This series of videos interprets pages 38 through 44 applying different hand techniques: rolls, single strokes, paradiddles, flams etc. all creatively and practically applied. The "melody" of the syncopated line can suggest many interesting and creative sticking  possibilities and they are learned through a musical rather than rote method. Here at Top Down we think that this particular chapter is one of the most important, wide ranging and unique of all of our offerings and gives you a good idea of where we are coming from.
